3rd Annual Uptown Countdown on Main Street
Organized by the local Main Street Association
WHAT: The event is now open to families (previous years entrants had to be at least 21 years old); three stages will feature a total of 10 bands and two firework shows at 8 p.m. and midnight. A kid zone will have face painting, karaoke, bounce houses and inflatable televisions for video games
WHEN: 4 p.m. to midnight, Dec. 31
WHERE: On Main Street (McCulloch Boulevard) from Smoketree to Mulberry Avenues, Main Street will be closed to allow entrants to drink alcohol throughout the event
COST: Adults: $10 pre-sale, $15 at the gate (cash only); Youth ages 6-16 $5 (both pre-sale and gate, must be accompanied by an adult), children ages five and younger, free; family pack: two adults and two youth $25; tickets can be purchased online at: www.lhcmainstreet.com. Also check the website for a list of local businesses that will be selling tickets prior to the event
